The Czech police posted an amazing close-up video of the tornado on their Twitter account.
“Incredibly authentic video from Luzice. Today he shared with us one of the locals who obviously has nerves of steel. Thanks to him. “Radovan, you are a brave man!” The Czech police wrote on Twitter.
Luzice is one of the villages in the South Moravian region that suffered the most damage from the devastating tornado, F3.
As a reminder, tornadoes are classified according to the so-called Fujit scale (according to Tetsuya Fujita) from F0 to F5, with F5 being the strongest storm.
According to previous data, the tornado in the Czech Republic was at the upper limit of F3. The wind speed was around 219 km / h. But meteorologists do not rule out the possibility that at some point the tornado was even stronger.
An unprecedented storm that hit the Czech Republic on Thursday killed five people and injured about 200.
According to the meteorological service, the tornado left a belt of destruction 500 meters wide and 26 kilometers long.
