Andrew Cuomo, will not be prosecuted on charges of two women – one of which is a member of the military – sexual harassment, said the regional prosecutor.
According to Westchester District Attorney Mimi Roca, although there is evidence that the events described by the women did indeed take place, she can not initiate criminal proceedings against him.
“In both cases, although the charges and the witnesses were credible and the conduct was worrying, we were unable to prosecute due to certain procedures required by the laws of New York State,” Roca said in a statement.
Cuomo did not comment on the decision, and previously denied that he had touched a woman in an inappropriate manner.
Many district attorneys have launched investigations based on the testimony of eleven women, provided by New York State Attorney Leticia James.
Cuomo resigned as governor in August.
