With over 34 years in Washington, Reid has held Democratic Senate oversight for two terms.
Harry Reid, a former Senate Majority Leader and member of Congress from Nevada for the longest term, has died at the age of 82, the Associated Press reports.
Landa Reed said her husband died after a four-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Through a 34-year career in Washington, Reid maintained Democratic control of the Senate during his two presidential terms. He retired in 2016.
After his death, President Joe Biden said that “if Harry said he would do something, it would be done.”
