New Etna Eruption: Volcano Spews Ash Up To 6 Miles High: Sicily’s Main Airport CLOSED, Filled With Ash

Catania Airport in Sicily today suspended flights after the eruption of Mount Etna due to which the runway was covered with volcanic ash.

Etna has had several eruptions in recent weeks, but there have been no reports of major damage or injuries.

The ashes occasionally fall, and the eruptions of the volcano during the eruptions caused the windows of the houses to burst, “Hina” reports.

The volcano spewed ash up to 6 miles high.

Mount Etna, 10,826 feet high, has been spewing lava and ash in recent days, mostly from its southeastern crater, according to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology.

Occasional eruptions have been reported in the northeast.
