The leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, said Iran was committed to ending the war in Ukraine, adding that for a crisis to end, a root cause must be identified for it to happen.
Addressing the Iranian people and Muslims around the world, Ayatollah Khamenei gave a televised speech on Tuesday on the occasion of Eid al-Mabat, the day on which Muhammad (pbuh) was appointed a prophet.
Addressing the conflict in Ukraine, the Iranian leader said:
“Iran supports an end to the war in Ukraine. We want the war to end there, but the solution to any crisis is possible only if the root cause is determined. “The root of the crisis in Ukraine is US policy, they created a crisis, and Ukraine is a victim of these policies.”
According to Ayatollah Khamenei, this crisis has its roots in the colorful revolution in Ukraine, which was supported by the United States.
“The United States is dragging Ukraine where it is now. By interfering in the internal affairs of Ukraine and through the colorful revolution, they overthrew a legitimate government and established their own government. “That’s how they got the country into this situation.”
He also stressed that despite the fact that in Ukraine, after interfering in the internal affairs of the United States, it put a pro-Western government, in the end it is as such dependent on its partners.
“The situation in Ukraine has two important lessons. Governments that rely on the United States and Europe need to know that their support is miraculous and untrue. Today’s Ukraine is yesterday’s Afghanistan. “Western presidents have told them they rely on their governments, but in the end they are left alone.”
Khamenei believes that this is a lesson for everyone, because when the government is not set by the people, then unpleasant events happen.
“People are the most important support for governments. This is the second lesson from the situation in Ukraine. If the people of Ukraine were involved, the Ukrainian government would not be in this situation. “People did not get involved because they did not approve of the government.”
At the end of his address to the public, he criticized US foreign policy.
“The United States is a manifestation of modern ignorance, discrimination, oppression and crisis creation in the world today. Basically, the US regime creates crises, lives from crises and feeds on various crises in the world. “Ukraine is another victim of this policy.”
Finally, the Iranian leader described the government in Ukraine as a Mafia regime. Condemning the US government as a “mafia regime”.
“Political, economic and all sorts of mafias control their country and bring presidents to power. “They create crises in the world to maximize their profits.”
