Two men were killed and eight were injured in a shooting in central Minneapolis, police said.
“Out of 10 victims, all are adults, five men and five women. “Two of the dead are men and one man is in critical condition,” police wrote on Twitter.
“Order has been restored at the scene and in the immediate vicinity,” police said, adding that there were no threats to public safety.
Seven more wounded were treated at local hospitals and have no life-threatening injuries, police said.
The cause of the shooting is being investigated.
Minneapolis is preparing for the anniversary of the assassination of George Floyd next week.
His brutal death sparked mass protests against racism in the United States and around the world. Officer Darrell Shauvin has been found guilty of murder and is awaiting sentencing on May 25.
