Footage posted on social media shows several bodies on the streets of the city of Bucha near Kyiv.
Ukrainian forces entered the city where heavy fighting was taking place. AFP reports that the bodies of at least 20 men in civilian clothes were found on a street after Ukrainian forces took the city from the Russians.
The agency reports that one of the killed was handcuffed and his body was scattered several hundred meters along the road. There are no details on the causes of death, although at least one person has a large wound on the head.
Adviser to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Anton Gerashchenko posted on Twitter a video of the destroyed Bucha, which is almost completely flattened.
“Bucha was a beautiful, modern suburb of Kyiv a month ago,” Gerashchenko wrote on Twitter, adding:
“Noise today – bombed and burned barns, houses looted to the last spoon or flattened, young families killed, men missing, women raped.
